How to Get Rid of Bad Breath

Bad breath can be so embarrassing. People have tried for ages to find a cure for this. They try one thing after another and it seems to work for a while, but then it keeps coming back. I am going to try and help with this situation. I am going to list some reasons that could be causing this problem and list some things that we could do to get rid of bad breath.

Odor bacteria hide in the holes in the very back of your mouth on top of your tongue. This is why brushing alone will not get rid of bad breath. Food gets trapped inside these holes and the only way to get it out is by using a tongue scraper. They even make tongue scrapers that comes attached with some of the tooth brushes.

Here’s how I brush my teeth: I brush my teeth really good. Spit out everything when I am finished and rinse real good. Then I will floss my teeth real good. Next I will put more paste on my brush and brush all of my gums and then I brush my tongue a few times with this clean paste. When I clean my tongue I use a scraper and I start in the back as far as I can without gagging and come forward. Do not bring forward and then go back with it again. Just bring everything forward. This is supposed to bring the old food that we don’t see out of the holes in the tongue. Rinse out your mouth real good. You can even gargle if you want but I don’t really need to after all of this. Some of the things that freshens the breath are ginger, fennel, and cumin. Parsley, cloves, and green tea also will help keep your breath fresh.

Did you know that certain diseases could be causing your bad breath? It doesn’t have to come from not brushing. If you have a lack of digestive enzymes this causes digestive problems which can cause bad breath. If you have a fishy smell it could be because of kidney failure. A rotten egg odor smell could be because of cirrhosis of the liver. If you have a fruity smell you may have diabetes. If you have any of these symptoms please check with your doctor, something else could be wrong instead of just bad breath.

Fasting or poor diets can also caused bad breath. That is why when you wake up in the mornings you have morning breath. It’s because you haven’t eaten anything in a while.

If you know you are going to be around a lot of people don’t put garlic in your foods. Garlic can stay in the mouth for 24 hours. Everyone knows to also stay away from onions, cheese, fish, salami, pastrami, beer, and whiskey if you are having company over. They probably will not be staying very long if you do this.

One problem could be with the gum area. You could be brushing all day and it doesn’t work it could be because of gum disease. Only your dentist can tell if you have gum disease or not. Regular check-ups and cleanings every 6 months are very important for the gums. This is when you will also get x-rays done. The dentist will do everything possible to save your gums and your teeth. If there are dental problems causing your bad breath he can usually take care of this.

If you don’t have regular check-ups with your dentist and your doctor, you could run into very serious problems later on.

I also carry a small tooth brush and small tube of paste in my purse to brush after I eat out. You never know who you will run into while you are out.
